Welcome!

Anyone who worked at Disney Feature Animation over the past forty years knew who Vance Gerry was. Very few actually got to see his work before it was shipped off to the archives.

Fortunately, the geek in me started making copies of his work and instead of sitting in a folder in my personal archive I want to share these drawings with as many people as possible. If you look long enough at these drawings and paintings you will be able to see the kind, funny, humble and generous man that was Vance Gerry.

Enjoy.

No ideas?

One thing I noticed about Vance was that when he ran out of steam with the story he would switch to character or costume designs until he got back on track. The man refused to sit and do nothing.

( Vance printed under The Weather Bird Press. This from the Online
Archive of California RE: Vance Gerry)

The collection of Vance Gerry's Weather Bird Press jobs primarily consists of illustrations, layout sketches, galley, page, and signature proofs, dummies, correspondence, ephemera, pochoir samples, and stencils. It was given to the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library in 1988 and 1992. The collection is contained in eight boxes. Oversized papers are stored in a map drawer under the title of Weather Bird Press.

Oh... Hell.
